I was kindly gifted with Gem instant royal icing which I was excited to try out! It’s definitely a winner and it sets so quickly and is really easy to whip up! I’ll share Below my recipe to make the best ever Butter Biscuits.

  • large mixing bowl

  • electric mixer

  • lined baking sheet

  • piping bags one for each colour

Let's make the Butter Cookies

Preheat oven to 160 °C.

Cream the butter and sugar together using an electric mixer.

Add the egg and vanilla essence to the mix.

Mix the flour and salt together and gradually add them to the mix.

Once a dough is formed, place it onto a floured surface and knead it together. Place in clingfilm and leave to rest in the fridge for 1 hour.

Pour the different coloured icing into pipping bags and pipe the desired decoration.
